Learn to count in altaian using the Vowel harmony rule. At first we have to learn to count up to ten. In altai language we count from eleven in the way as you count in English from twenty one. We’d like to advise you not to learn the numbers one after another in increasing order. You should learn random numbers: эки – two, беш – five, он – ten, сегис – eight etc. This way of learning is more reliable, there are times when a person fluently counts up to the hundred or thousand, but when you stop him he is at loss to give the correct translation.

We will study the rest numbers next time.
We make an emphasis on importance to learn counting and translating numbers up to forty. Why? Because there are seven days of the week, a natural day has twenty four hours, a month has up to thirty one days, a free-air temperature in winter and summer is plus or minus forty degrees, the body temperature reaches up to forty, there are usually up to thirty students in a class. In spoken language we tell the time this way: it’s fifteen to six or it’s twenty five past two etc.

Make sentences using the following words: эртен (tomorrow), кече (yesterday), болор (it will be), изӱ (hot), соок (cold), градус (degree), кижи (person), берген (gave), чечек (flower), часта (at … o’clock).
